Background
Disco previously operated on a CPA Bidding Model. However, based on customer feedback, we rolled out a new Cost-Per-Click (CPC) bidding model in January 2025.
Disco’s Auction Model
Our model is designed to recommend your offer to shoppers with a high likelihood of converting. How often you display is a function of (1) how relevant your offer is to a given shopper and (2) your bid price relative to other advertisers using Disco.
For example, if your CPC bid for new customers is $5 and another equally relevant advertiser’s bid is $3, our model will display your offer over theirs. However, if your bid is $5 and another advertiser’s is $3, but they have a higher relevancy score for that specific shopper, the model will show their offer instead.
Our goal is always to show shoppers the most relevant offers and to give our advertisers the highest possible chance of converting them.
How to Set a Bid
- Before you can start advertising, you will need to set your CPC bid using this form: https://www.disconetwork.com/disco-cpc.
- If you wish to target both new and returning customers, then you will set separate bids for each.
- If you only want to target new customers, then leave the returning customers field blank.
How to Update your Bid
- You can update your CPC bid by resubmitting the bid form. You can also contact your CSM or file a ticket using the "Help" icon.
How You’ll Be Billed
- Billable clicks are defined as the total outbound clicks (as measured by Disco) per advertiser, per Disco session.
- All billable clicks are from verified Disco shoppers in logged-in checkout experiences.
- Billable clicks occur within the DiscoFeed widget itself. For example, we charge for outbound clicks when a shopper clicks on your brand’s hyperlinked imagery, logo, text or if they click your “claim offer” button.
- All billable clicks are from verified Disco shoppers in logged-in checkout experiences.
-
- In contrast, we do not charge when a shopper clicks “next/previous offer” because that is not an outbound click directing the shopper to your site. We also do not charge for clicks that happen outside of DiscoFeed, say, within the confirmation emails shoppers receive after they claim your offer.
- You will be invoiced the first week of each month for the billable clicks driven by Disco during the previous month. This will automatically be charged to your payment method on file in Stripe unless otherwise stated. Disco holds the right to charge the payment method on file if you are delinquent more than 90 days.
- You will be charged for billable clicks from new customers based on your CPC (New Customer) bid.
- You will be charged for billable clicks from returning customers based on your CPC (Returning Customer) bid.
- You will be charged for billable clicks from new customers based on your CPC (New Customer) bid.
FAQs
-
Will I get charged for impressions? No - only billable clicks.
-
What if I prefer to set a CPA bid instead of CPC? Contact your CSM. We are accommodating both CPA and CPC bids until April 1, 2025.
-
What if there is a discrepancy between the clicks I’m charged for and what I see in Google Analytics? Please contact your CSM if you see this. We’ve found that sometimes GA is not able to track every click or there can be an issue with UTMs. We’re happy to work with you to reconcile any discrepancies.
-
What if I’m not getting as many clicks as I’d like? Reach out to your CSM or file a ticket using the ‘Help’ icon and clicking ‘Leave us a message’ so we can help troubleshoot. You may need to increase your bid price, but we can review your account to look for other optimizations as well. For example, you will see much better performance by setting an offer if you haven’t already.
- What if the clicks Disco is driving aren’t converting? Reach out to your CSM or file a ticket using the "Help" icon so we can help troubleshoot. We’ve seen that brands with optimized landing pages convert at much higher rates than those without. We’re happy to review your offer and landing page set up.
