You decide what's allowed to serve on your inventory. DiscoMix gives you control at three levels — category, sub-category, and individual advertiser — and your exclusions always take priority. This article covers how the controls work.
Three levels of control
- Category and sub-category — exclude whole categories of advertisers from your inventory.
- Sensitive categories — blanket-exclude sensitive categories in one step.
- Individual advertiser or domain — block a specific advertiser by name or domain, even if its category is otherwise allowed.
For the strongest coverage, combine category-level exclusions with advertiser and domain blocks — that way a brand can't slip through on a category you hadn't thought to exclude.
Exclusions always win
Anything you exclude stays off your inventory, full stop. Controls you configure take priority over everything else in the request — nothing passed in at serve time can override an exclusion you've set.
Offer quality
DiscoMix demand is offer-based performance advertising — relevant deals and offers, not banner spam. Combined with your controls, that keeps the post-purchase experience consistent with your brand. Post-click, offers resolve to standard web destinations.
