The Disco Community Slack group is not only a way to gain Disco best practices, but it’s a way to share industry information efficiently, ask engaging prompts, and identify other brands and members in the network to connect and partner. You can join our Slack community by visiting the Disco Community Slack invite page.
Getting Started
- Profile: If you haven’t already, please add a profile picture so people can recognize you! It’s a helpful way to foster more community.
- Browse public channels (on the mobile app):
- Tap the + sign in the “Channels” section of the Home tab, or tap the “Search” icon on the bottom of the screen and then “Browse all channels." Select the channel you want to join, click "Join Channel," and introduce yourself!
- You can also create new public channels, or private channels for small groups. Even admins cannot access or see private channels unless invited to them.
- Replying to messages: In order to keep the main discussions clean, please use the reply function when responding to someone. Just tap on the message and you’ll be able to reply in the thread. You can also tag specific people in any message using the “@” followed by their name, which will send them a direct notification.
- Make sure notifications are set up on the mobile app so you don’t miss any direct messages (DMs) or “@” mentions. You can always mute or leave specific channels if they become too noisy.
- Messages in public channels are visible to everyone, so be mindful of channel purpose when posting. Use the threads feature when possible to continue specific conversations, and direct messages for private conversations.
- Open to collabs? Set your status to let other members know which type of partnership you’re looking for at this time.
