Overview
- What is it? Nurture Offers gives your brand a way to stand out from the crowd by spotlighting your special promotions to relevant shoppers.
- How does it work? When we have three relevant offers for a given shopper checking out from a Disco brand, we will display those in place of the typical DiscoFeed format.
- What does it cost? There is no additional cost at this time. You only pay for conversions as usual.
- Who can use it? Any brand with DiscoFeed live and active budget.
Shopper Experience
- On the Order status / Thank you page, eligible shoppers can browse three promos from three brands recommended to them based on their past purchases.
- If a shopper clicks the “claim offer” button, they can copy the code directly and click to be redirected to your website to use it immediately.
- They will also receive a confirmation email from Disco with the promo code include
Setup Instructions
Step 1: Generate your discount code within your Shopify admin (or preferred tool)
- Any discount type can be used as long as there is a discount code associated.
- Set the Customer Eligibility to All Customers. We do not yet have a way to target offers only to new customers so the promo must be available to both new and returning.
Step 2: Enter your promo code & copy into your Disco admin
- Go to the Nurture section in your Disco admin.
- Enter the promo code and copy - ie "20% off" or "20% off orders over $100" etc
- Be specific with any limitations, such as the product purchased, order value etc.
- Avoid using all caps, exclamation points, or repeating your brand’s name as this copy also gets pulled into the confirmation email and won’t read well.
- Character guidelines:
- Discount code = 25 characters
- Heading = 20 characters
- Subheading = 30 characters
Step 3: Review the background image.
- This image gets pulled in from your page setup under Settings. You can update this by going to Settings > Page Setup > Change Banner
- If you do not have an image already set, we will use your logo instead. However, we recommend setting an image.
Step 4: Toggle to "enabled" to go live
- Once this is toggled on the Nurture section, your offer will start displaying to relevant shoppers checking out from other brands.
- You can update or remove your offer at any time or disable the feature entirely.
Optional: Set Up Klaviyo Lead Capture
- If you have Klaviyo Lead Capture set up, we can pass shopper profiles to your Klaviyo account anytime a shopper clicks to claim your promo.
- Again, this is completely optional - you do not need to use Klaviyo to set up an offer.
FAQs
Will the offer be displayed for both new and returning customers? Or can we set parameters for who it’s shown to?
Because this feature is still in beta, we don’t yet have any targeting capabilities built in. This means promo codes must be available to all shoppers - both new and returning customers.
Can we schedule our promotions ahead?
No, unfortunately we don’t yet have the ability to schedule promotions. You can update your discount code and copy at any point though by logging into your account.
Do we have the ability to make the discount code dynamic? Or will we need to use the same code for each send?
We are not able to create dynamic discount codes yet and will provide shoppers with the same code. Note - this means there is a slight risk of your code leaking.
Are there any protections in place to prevent my promo code from leaking?
No, this is a risk that you should be aware of if you join the beta. We recommend you monitor for any unexpected activity within the Sales by Discount Report in your Shopify admin. If you do need to disable your code, you can log into your Disco account to turn off the feature or to swap in a new code anytime. We ran a similar set of tests previously and did not have any issue with codes leaking, but this is a risk to be aware of.
What if we need to deactivate or update our promo code?
You can do that at any point by logging into your Disco account and making updates in the Nurture section of your admin.
Where can I see how our promo is performing?
We do not yet have reporting built out for this feature. You can see your brand's individual performance using the Sales by Discount Report in the Shopify admin or watch for new leads in your Klaviyo account.
