How to Initiate a Swap
Offer Swaps are only available between Shopify Brands. If one of the brands in the proposed offer swap does is not on Shopify, the initiating brand will see a yellow error message noting this. To initiate, click "Partnerships" in the message window and choose "Propose an offer swap."
Choose an Offer to Swap
If Offers are already set up in your Disco account, choose from an existing Offer. If an Offer isn't already set up, you must create one before proposing a swap (if you need help, see our help article on offers). Create a new offer for your Swap by clicking "+ Add a new offer."
Propose an Offer Swap
Once the Offer is chosen, click on Configure details to determine how the Swap will work. Choose whether the Offer Swap should start Immediately or on a specific future date. Note: If your swap is not accepted by that date, you may need to change the start date.
Next, choose whether to end the Offer Swap on a specific date or after a number of views. Note: If one brand reaches the number of views before the other, the Swap will end for that brand but it will not end for the other until it also reaches 1000 views.
Finally, click Send Request to propose your Offer!
Check the Offer Swap Proposal Status
The status of your Offer Swap will show in the message window. Once an Offer Swap is proposed to a brand, that brand will also appear under Partners in your Disco Inbox.
Each brand can click Preview to see what the offer will look like. The receiving brand can accept the offer swap and choose their own offer to swap, or reject the offer swap.
The sending brand can also Cancel the offer swap at any time. If either brand cancels, the other brand is notified in their message thread.
Accept and Schedule the Offer Swap
The receiving brand will see the option to choose which customers to target, then select an Offer to Swap or create a new offer, as outlined in the section above. When done, choosing the offer clicking Send request will reply to the Offer Swap.
The sending brand will see a prompt to Schedule offer swap. If it is set to start immediately, it begins; otherwise it will be queued for the agreed upon start date.
Each brand can click See performance in the message thread to view the performance of their Offer. The sidebar also shows the history of all Offer Swaps with that brand in the Partnership Timeline. The sidebar does not currently show brands the performance metrics of their partnering brands' Offers.
If brands already have surveys and offers live, the Offer Swap will be the last experience that a shopper sees. If there are two offers of your own live, Offer Swaps will still show up after your two offers show.
When shoppers click on an Offer Swap, they'll go straight to the partner brand’s checkout, where the discount code is already applied with a permalink.
- Mobile: See the shopper experience by clicking "Preview" in the Offer Swap flow to see what it will look like on mobile.
- Desktop: On desktop, the Offer Swap will show up before the confirmation page.
